Cecil shuts down Angels' bats, Jays win 6-0

Cecil (4-2) struck out three and won his second consecutive start since allowing eight runs in two innings May 14 at Texas. He got a no-decision in that one when the Blue Jays rallied for a 16-10 victory.

Anteaters win series against UC Riverside

Eric Pettis threw his first complete game of the season to lift UC Irvine to a 9-6 victory over UC Riverside. Drew Hillman had four hits and two RBIs to lead the Anteaters.

Cal State Fullerton earns another sweep

Carlos Lopez had three hits and six RBIs as the Cal State Fullerton baseball team swept its third consecutive weekend series. This time, it's against Santa Clara.

The waves at the Wedge, which is a popular bodyboarding and bodysurfing spot just north of the Newport Pier, started with 8-foot surf this morning and nearly doubled in size by about 5 p.m., as sets of 15-18 feet arrived.
